Full-Spectrum CBD Oil for Pain Management
Overview
CBD usage as a form of pain management is quickly gaining popularity. When cells become damaged due to injury or chronic illness, the body senses this damage cranks inflammation to HIGH, and begins pumping inflammatory agents into your cells. CBD or cannabidiol is a natural pain relief option that comes from oil that is extracted from hemp plants. Many users report good results in treating pain and inflammation caused by physical exertion and the effects of aging.
CBD Oil For Chronic Pain*
This study from the Journal of Experimental Medicine shows how cannabinoids mitigate persistent inflammation and neuropathic pain by targeting 3 glycine receptors. The study also found that subjects did not build up a tolerance to CBD, and therefore would not have to increase their dose continuously.
CBD for Arthritis*
A 2016 study from the US National Library of Medicine used CBD on rats with arthritis. The rats received CBD gel for four days in a row, and researchers found reduced inflammation and reduced overall pain in the rat’s joints. These benefits were enjoyed without side effects.
CBD Oil for Migraines*
There is a very promising 2017 study that the European Academy of Neurology (EAN) published. They found that cannabinoids are just as suitable for treating migraine headaches as pharmaceutical treatments. In the study, they took about 130 people with chronic migraines and gave them cannabinoid compounds for three months. The EAN found that “when analyzing use in the treatment of acute pain, the researchers came across an interesting phenomenon: cannabinoids reduced pain intensity among migraine patients by 43.5%.”
Other Uses*
Promising research is being conducted that indicates that CBD may aid a variety of other health conditions including drug withdrawals, multiple sclerosis, seizures and epilepsy, anxiety, Alzheimer’s, mental health disorders, and diabetes. While more studies still need to be done, the early results on the uses for pain management are encouraging. There are currently over 160 CBD clinical trials underway.
